Palms of My Hands

Terry visited his sister’s house. He bought flowers for her which she truly loves. His sister had a spinal laser surgery about a month ago because of severe neck and back pain. Terry had often visited her eversince the surgery. He wants to make sure that she is okay and has everything that she needs. Her sister is telling him not to fuss over her and that she will be okay. But she admits that she loves the attention and the gifts that she receives.

Kyle is looking for Valet Jobs and is hoping to get one soon. He needs the job immediately because bills are piling up at the moment. He is good in driving and learns fast. Kyle needs the job to pay bills and also to save money for his schooling. He wants to go back in college and finished his business course.

Danny bought tire chains for his daughter’s car. It’s winter once again and he wants to make sure that she’s driving safely. Cars often skidded due to slippery snow. A tire chains will make sure that her car will not give her a headache or an accident. Last year her car smashed to another car due to slippery road. Thank God, she and the other driver were not hurt. Now, he will make sure that it will not happen anymore.

Melody invited us to go to their farm during the weekend. She also wanted to relax. She told us she needs some fresh air. When we arrived there, her grandfather was the one who welcomed us. Before we get to sightsee their ranch, we have a rest and got to see some of the collections of her grandfather. We saw a glass cabinet that is filled with cigar boxes and one of them is Dutch Master. According to melody, collecting cigars is one of the favorite hobby of her grandpa.

I was busy blog hopping the whole time this afternoon. I got interested with the photos posted with my childhood friend who’s snowboarding or skiing without the protection of snowboarding goggles. I can’t believe it he did it without protecting his eyes. It has been months since the last time I visited the blogs of friends. I have not been updated with their lives anymore because I have no time or actually I have no internet access for the past few months because I was reviewing for a board examination and my parents cancelled our internet subscription for the entire duration of my review.

The women’s group here in our place have this advocacy or crusade against breast and cervical cancer for women. For s long time, they have conducted seminars and awareness programs for women and yet there are only a few who are interested to join their advocacy. When my friend and I joined the group, we suggested another ways to reach a wider scope of women. My friend is a marketing specialist and I trust her suggestion of distributing custom lapel pins which would symbolize our group’s advocacy. Besides, having these pins would be much cheaper than conducting awareness drives and seminars every now and then. Good thing the leaders of the group was convinced with her idea.

After that, we started making the groups logo and the probable design of the lapel pins. Almost all of the members contributed lots of ideas in the design of the pin. And after six hours of brain storming, we came up with three designs for the pin. One is dominated with color pink, the second us lavender and the third one is red. We decided to order each design of the pin by batch, depending on the availability of the fund.

This weekend, we will be starting to distribute the first batch of lapel pins to all the women in our village and to the whole state. The farther we could reach, much better!
