In every place and country all over the world we can find a lot of museums full of memorabilia’s preserved from the people who had contributed something and in their places which they leave mementos and memorabilia to keep by so future generations will see it and remind them of their rich historic past.
Another form of making such things is the preservation and restoration of old houses where the present caretakers usually the city government where the house is located preserves the house for tourist attraction. One such tourist attraction is the preservation of the W.H. Stark House this olden house is a Victorian Landmark in Orange, Texas. Its history is as impressive as the landmark itself. The house was built in 1894 by the couples W.H. Stark and his wife, Miriam Lutcher Stark who lived in their house until their death in 1936.
The home was left vacant until its 1971 restoration. Today, after it was restored, the W.H. Stark House is now opened to the public allowing the visitors to view the Stark family's original furnishings and personal belongings they once used. Also found are decorative art pieces from the 18th and 19th centuries. The W.H. Stark House started its construction in 1893 it is a Victorian and Eastlake architectural styles inspired. Both styles were designed and inspired from the Stark couples constant trips abroad. Its architect was unconfirmed, though. But its designer was Fred Wilber, a cousin of H.J.Lutcher. Most of the houses influences came from the homes of Miriam Stark's mother and sister.
The W.H.Stark House is a unique proof to Texas rich history as well as an interest and pride of its residents and visitors as well.
