Papaya Salad (Atsara)

Have you been to Philipines? Here’s one food recipe I want to share with you that Filipinos are fond of eating as a side dish to its famous chicken alacarte. Below is the list of some stuff you need to have in order to make it:

papaya (green) - grated/ thin pepper (black seeds)
carrots - cut into strips vinegar
sayote - sliced into thin strips salt
ginger sugar
onion

Here’s how to do it. First, you should peel and grate the unripe papaya. Then, wash sayote and carrots strips with salt. In a medium-size frying pan, boil vinegar together with ginger, onion and black pepper. Season with salt and sugar. Pour vinegar mixture over grated papaya. Add sayote and carrots. It is best to serve it chilled especially as a side dish if you have grilled chicken as your main menu..
