English Carabao Solons
A blind item from a national newspaper dated October 2, 2007 tackles about a neophyte congressman from the province of Bukidnon who speaks Carabao English in Congress. According to the author, Mr. Bernard Taguinod, this politician looks very intelligent and respectable at first glance but when he was given the chance to speak during the height of a congressional debate, his constituents could not help but laugh and feel ashamed of the said politician. An incident was even reported that a fellow congressman had to excuse himself from the committee room because he was the one who felt embarrassed.
As a resident of Bukidnon, I feel sad that our congressional representative is being ridiculed just because he cannot speak English fluently. In my own point of view, it does not, what matter whether a person is a good speaker or not, what matters most is that he has good intentions and that all his programs are all for the national interest and for the development of the province of Bukidnon.

Napakasama namang pangyayari niyan.Hindi sukatan ng katalinuhan ang kakayahang magsalita ng Ingles.Dapat sana ay Filipino na lang ang ginamit niya.Tingnan natin kung may tumawa.
